Safe Everywhere Always
Members of UNISONg supported the launch of 16 Days of Activism on Saturday, 25 November. They were part of a ceremony organised by the Wagga Women's Health Centre. Community came together and tied white ribbons with the names written on them of each woman in Australia who has died in 2023 as a result of family and domestic violence.
The choir sang, 'Imagine', 'Truly Brave' and 'Lift My Sister Up'.
Take time to visit the Wollundry Lagoon and read each name, count the ribbons and reflect beside the water. One woman has died every five days in 2023.
Another ribbon was added on Monday - a woman died on Saturday as a result of domestic violence.
